Oris has a long and proud history of both sponsoring and being inspired by Formula One. For the 2010 season Oris is again the Official Watch Partner of the AT&T Williams Formula One team, our seventh season with the team.

Oris’ passion for Motor Sport started way back in the 1970s with the now famous Chronoris, which first captured the true spirit of Formula One. Several Formula one drivers wear special and limited edition Oris Motor Sport Collection watches, and Oris is the official timekeeper for many other motor sports events.

Oris has produced a long and distinguished line of pilots’ watches since the 1940s when they launched the first Pointer Day watches, with Oris watches being worn by US Air Force Pilots during World War II. Since then Oris has continued to produce first class aviation watches and has been active in supporting new aviation exploits whilst taking inspiration from the spirit of both modern and classic aviation.

Oris also has a strong emotional connection to music and the arts, since its first sponsorship of the 1996 London Jazz Festival, and has since sponsored many other artistic and musical events, and has created many special and limited edition watches dedicated to artists and musicians, such as Bob Dylan, Frank Sinatra, Andy Sheppard, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, and Miles Davis, to name a few.

Oris is also omnipresent throughout the Hollywood culture; appearing on film on the wrists of many of Hollywood’s brightest stars over the last few decades, with many of them also choosing to continue wearing an Oris watch off-screen.
